Project Prathyasha was initiated to look after the needs of a very vulnerable section of our society, HIV Affected Orphans.

The objectives of Prathyasha are:
To fully address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of orphan children
To provide free shelter, food, education, clothing and health care
To extend counseling, psychological support and community care for children
To equip orphans with life skills and morals
To establish a vocational training center for children above 15yrs
To bring awareness on AIDS and AIDS related issues

This pet project of Mellow Circle to rehabilitate HIV Affected Children took shape with the donation of 8 grounds of land near Avadi, from Mr. K N Oommen, in memory of his late wife Mrs. Mary Oommen. The construction was completed in little over a year and was inaugurated on 17th May, 2009 by Mr. John K John, Managing Director, Johnson Lifts, a key sponsor, in the presence of Mr K N Oommen as well as several dignitaries from the State health boards.

Prathyasha is the Home to 16 boys and girls between the ages of 2 to 13. Prathyasha’s first phase of 2300 sq.ft will be a total home for over 20 children where we will provide them with a normal childhood, complete with education, medical care, nutrition as well all other inputs required for a normal growth.
